When to Begin Shopping for your Wedding Dress
Congratulations, you said yes! You found the love of your life, now it is time to find your dress. The question is, when do you begin the search?
We recommend beginning this search 7-9 months in advance. That may seem like a long time but let me explain a little bit of the why behind this timeline. All the beautiful gowns that you see in the store are samples that you will try on. Don’t worry if it is too big, we will clip it to fit right! Once you have your fairytale moment and say yes, we will measure you so that you can pick the best size. From there, we will check to see whether your dress is in stock, in production, or standard production. What does all this mean?
In stock
This means that the dress is already made, and ready to be shipped! From the day that the order is placed, it typically takes 10-14 days until we receive it.
In Production
This means that the process for making this dress has already begun, and we are provided with the estimated completion date. From that date, we add on 2 weeks for shipping until we receive it!
Standard Production
If there is nothing in stock, or in production, no need to worry! Standard production is the most common and typically takes 4-5 months from the order date.
Custom
Find the perfect dress, but don’t love the buttons on the back? Or perhaps you like a dress but would love if there was a train! We would love to make these changes for an additional charge, and a little bit more time. This typically takes 5-6 months.
Most brides will need to get their dresses altered to get that perfect fit! We recommend getting your dress altered 6-8 weeks before your wedding date, so you will want to add this into your timeline as well.
You are going to be a gorgeous bride, we are so excited for you to begin shopping and hope to see you soon!
